What is Force Strength & Performance?

Force Strength and Performance is a powerlifting coaching provider for drug-free powerlifters.

â€‹I believe well designed strength coaching should base itself upon a solid understanding of the scientific principles of resistance training as well as anecdotal evidence gained from years of experience in the weight room. This is what FSP is built upon.

With over 10 years of lifting experience and a M.S. in Exercise Science, I still continue to learn and progress everyday in hopes to provide the best for my athletes. However, as my practices change and evolve, one thing will always remain the same. I will always do my best to for my athletes.

Who Am I?

My name is Sam Jansen. I am a powerlifting coach who works with drug-free powerlifters.

My background in strength training began when i was 14 years old, and started resistance training for Football. I quickly developed a love for strength training and decided to pursue a career in the field.

I received a B.S. in Sport and Exercise science from University of Central Florida and it was there that I had my first exposure to Powerlifting. The UCF rec center held an annual powerlifting meet, and so I decided to compete in November of 2014. I ended up placing first in my weight class and won overall best male lifter.

Upon graduating from UCF,  I decided to attend Florida Atlantic University to pursue a Masters degree in Exercise science. While at FAU I had the pleasure of studying under Dr. Mike Zourdos, Dr. Zourdos is well known in the powerlifting compunity for his research on Daily Undulating Periodization and the use of the Repetitions in Reserve RPE scale, both of which are commonly used in Powerlifting training today.

Additionally, during my final semester at FAU I interned at Cressey Sports Performance. There I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in Strength and Conditioning including Eric Cressey himself. I obtained a wealth of knowledge in my 5 months at CSP and couldn't be more thankful for the coaches there that helped me to be the coach I am today.

In short, i have dedicated my life to learning from the best, to help my athletes attain their powerlifting goals.

May the Force be with you!

Sam Jansen M.S. CSCS
